A hat. Gone wrong?

I’m on a hat kick. I have been for a few weeks, I just started making hats, and hey, I don’t get why I used to hate these. Mostly I used to be scared of circular needles and stranded colour work, which is basically all I do now. But this hat.. I’m not sure about this hat.

A hat that should no longer be on the needles

I think this hat should have been off the needles a long time ago. It just keeps going and going.. It’s getting out of beanie territory and into slouchy hat territory. It’s got a cool Celtic Knot design, from this pattern by Joannie Newsome on Ravelry, which is difficult to see in my bad-quality picture (I’ll try to post a better one later so the pattern can be seen), but I’m not sure I’m doing the decreases right. This means that ripping back and trying out my own decreasing method is a possibility.
